Hows it going folks? Now that we've gone through and highlighted all the powerhouses of other male stock artists out there to get the mental juices flowing, time to get a little audience participation going.

Though the shoot will not happen until it warms up a bit more out here and nature starts to get nice and green, probably the end of April or the beginning of May, we are planning a big co-op stock shoot with PirateLotus-Stock! It's going to be great fun.

But, with so much lead time on the shoot, that means we have more than enough time to plumb the depths of your desires when it comes to setting up the scenarios.

Here's the parameters we have to go off of. The shoot will be medieval themed. We have a couple recurve bows that we'll be using to hit on the hunters / hunting aspects. I don't anticipate being able to spend any of the shoot inside, so we're definitely going to explore making camp type stuff. We may have a medieval looking tent to play with, we may not. We have bits of armor and costume to play with as well. Check out PirateLotus-Stock's gallery to see what she'll be bringing to the table.

As you all know, we like to create a story with the stock series, to have scenarios and concepts to deliver. So what do you want to see? Are there general concepts you want us to explore? Specific poses you need shot? Let us know, because with all this time to prepare it gives us more than enough leeway to ensure we have the perfect compliment of costume, props, and gear even if it means perhaps working on new equipment if that's feasible.

I will keep this journal updated with ideas that have been requested, etc.

Ideas:
*Find cute little animals, pose with them, look tough.
*Defensive / kneeling shield pose. Don't forget SPARTAAAA face.

So, the stock community has grown and improved so much since I first started producing stock, and there are so many stockers whose stock I love.

These aren't them. The stockers featured here are the people whose stock is so good, that I hate them out of pure jealousy. They tend to be people with resources or abilities beyond the scope of my own, and much the same taste. I'm only featuring stockers that primarily produce male stock, because that's what Ari and I do. If I featured female stockers I envied as well, we'd be here all year.

The first that has to be mentioned, of course, is jademacalla. I've hated him from day one, in a good way. His stock is awesome, and often makes me think "That must be uncomfortable."

In the vein of obnoxiously athletic stockers, I'd be wrong not to mention DaeStock, 'cuz, well, Duuuuuude. If you're looking for epic displays of male physicality, he's the stocker for you.

I also hate (in the good way) Nemesis-19 Not all of his stock is up my ally, but the vast majority of it is stuff I wish I had the time/gear/costuming to do.

Random-Acts-Stock is someone I've loathed with jealousy since I first saw their stock, too. I growl every time I see it. It's amazing.

Brandon-Tarian is someone who just does too much stock that's like something I'd do. Great poses, great movement, obviously has fun with it. He's clearly trying to steal my spot of awesome male stock since I've been inactive.

Last, but by no means least, is a favorite to hate, anyman82. I honestly have a hard time hating this guy anymore, since I talked to him once and he's super nice, but I'm determined. This guy just has TOO DAMN MUCH FUN. He's so into his characters in his stock, and it really shows. I really, really loath this guy. His stock is so creative, and so expressive, it has me seeing red every time I see it. Damn it, that's my department!

One of these days I should create a journal featuring stockers I hate out of sheer jealousy. There are a lot of them.
It used to be that Ailinstock was the uncontested top dog for male stock, (Okay, maybe a close second to :iconjademacalla:) but now deviantart is just flooded with amazing stock photographers with apparently amazing resources. I hate you all. You're amazing.
There are all these people with spectacular stock who make me glower every time I see their name or work. Deviantart has really collected some AMAZING stock artists since we first joined. I don't search the stock gallery much anymore these days, but when I do, there's little to no "Myspace face". That's really impressive. Deviantart stock has come so far.

Heh, Myspace. I must be getting old.

anyman82 and PirateLotus-Stock have been kind enough recently to let me know when they found people using my stock and breaking my rules. I just want to say to them and to everyone else: THANKS SO MUCH FOR LETTING ME KNOW! I don't have much time these days to wander the internets, and I never would see these violations if other people didn't take the time to tell me about them. Thanks!

I also thought I'd take a moment to remind people to PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE follow the rules of the stock artists whose stock you use! I do realize that most of the people who will bother to read this are not the type to steal stock, and I don't mean to offend anyone, but I do feel it bears saying. All of the stock artists on Deviantart and elsewhere work really hard to produce and provide their stock. All of us face numerous challenges to keep doing it. When you break the stock artists' rules, you are stealing their stock. Why would you steal something that was offered for free? This is unbelievably frustrating for the stock artists, and I've seen several wonderful stockers "Go out of business" because they were sick of people breaking their rules. If you enjoy the stock, let us know, and follow the rules. They're not hard (usually). And please, for all you amazing artists out there, if you notice another artists abusing stockers' rules, PLEASE let the stocker know! I can't begin to tell you how much it's appreciated.

And please, if you get the chance and haven't done so already, please go check out anyman82 and PirateLotus-Stock
anyman82 has some amazing expressive, creative poses (I won't lie, I get a little jealous of him and my other male "competition") and PirateLotus-Stock is another amazing stocker who I hope to do collab stock with soon!

Thanks to all the amazing artists out there who follow our rules! I love just about (Yes, there are some exceptions) everything you guys send me, including rough draft comics and sketches. You guys are amazing and continue to wow me with your creativity. Keep it up.

If there's ever anything we can do for you, let us know.
